Pathuri Sudhakar Reddy has won in Karimnagar MLC elections


Mr. Sudhakar Reddy has won with ease as he has polled 9,324 votes against 4,301 votes secured by his nearest rival, B. Mohan Reddy.

 

TRS party has won two MLC seats on Monday. TRS supported candidate Pathuri Sudhakar Reddy had registered a thumping majority in the teachers constituency held for Karimnagar, Adilabad, Nizamabad and Medak districts. He created a history by winning with first priority votes.
Sudhakar Reddy won the election with 5023 votes majority. Pathuri has got 9324 votes out of 18,235 votes and elected with the first priority votes only. Sudhakar Reddy’s opponents Mohan Reddy got 4,301 votes, Laxma Reddy got 3675 votes, Kishtu got 388, Ashok got 153, Laxminarayana got 18. 376 votes have become invalid votes.

 

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has won two seats and two other seats were won by independents during the counting of votes till 10 p.m. on Monday in the biennial elections to six seats of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council.
The winners included K. Swamy Goud (TRS) from Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates’ constituency, P. Sudhakar Reddy (TRS) from Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Teachers’ seat, P. Ravinder (Independent) from Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers’ seat and G. Srinivasulu Naidu (Independent) from Srikakulam-Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam Teachers’ constituency.
Independents K. Ravi Kiran Varma and B. Nageswara Rao were leading over their nearest rivals in East Godavari-West Godavari Graduates’ and Krishna-Guntur Graduates’ constituencies, respectively.
Most of the parties including the ruling Congress did not evince much interest in the MLC elections to the six seats and did not field their official candidates.
